This relatively specialized tool isn’t for everyone. But for those who need to bevel the edges of doors or put a glass-smooth edge on long stock, this is the one to have. It uses a proprietary, carbide-tipped spiral cutter, and we found its cutting quality to be excellent. The rearward-canted grip on this planer makes it possible to push it over long distances without incurring wrist fatigue. The integral fence is adjustable through 60 degrees of travel. A must-have for door hangers, this tool is an excellent plane that is best used for finish carpentry and door hanging.
