odometer: 83000
rv type: other
1996 converted Ford bus to mobile elk camp.. this has the 5.9 twelve valve cummins with an amazing 83,000 miles.. and yes that's verified and odometer works. 4 speed allison transmission..I acquired this from an Iowa school district with verified mileage, to remove the engine for a cummins/ powerstroke swap only to return to helena to find another cummins 12 valve had already been acquired.. so this one never got removed. Instead stripped the seats and began making a rustic rolling elk camp and a place to live in while I built a cabin. You can see the cabin in the background.. it's completed so the bus has just sat for the last year.. but you gotta love a cummins with the P pump. Stuck batteries in last week, turned the key and it's running immediately... as you can see from pictures it's got couple fold up bunks, fold up table, tons of storage, shower, double sink, frig, fresh water tank, wood stove... everything I needed to live in year round while constructing. I insulated and flashed most of windows, leaving few for ventilation. Usually these don't have a spare tire but school district found me one when I told them I planned to drive it to Montana..I mounted it under rear frame as it takes a lot of space otherwise.. it's on a boat winch so raising and lowering is easy..( it's heavy) see pictures.. anyway spent 3 montana winters in it in a remote location while building. Old blaze king keeps it plenty warm even in sub zero temps... those that know 12 valve know that an 83,000 mile cummins is worth half the asking price for the entire rig. Again busses don't normally come with grid heaters but knowing I was gonna be in extreme conditions I installed one... so if you're interested in a schoolie, tiny home, bug out vehicle, hunting camp you can reach me at 406-461-4377... call or text.. please leave message as I'm in a remote location but I'll return ASAP. I can drive bus to town if someone interested or feel free to see it in it's remote locale... oh almost forgot..I worked with montana DMV and MT HWP inspection to change and register and title this as a recreation vehicle so you don't need CDL to drive this. And it's was easier to insure... i rarely check email so please call or text..thanks for looking
