Montana Roofing Company is seeking an experienced shingle roofing subcontractor with an established crew for residential roofing projects and repairs in Helena, Montana, and surrounding areas.
This is a 1099 subcontract opportunity for a dependable crew capable of completing roof replacements and repair work with minimal supervision. Housing accommodations are available while the crew is working on our projects.
Responsibilities
* Remove existing roofing and prepare the roof deck.
* Install ice and water barrier, underlayment, drip edge, starter, shingles, ridge cap, flashing, and ventilation components.
* Complete flashing at valleys, walls, chimneys, skylights, plumbing vents, and other penetrations.
* Perform leak repairs, shingle repairs, flashing repairs, and ventilation corrections.
* Follow project scopes, measurement reports, manufacturer instructions, and company standards.
* Report damaged decking, material shortages, and unforeseen conditions promptly.
* Supervise the crew and maintain jobsite safety.
* Protect the property and complete thorough daily and final cleanup.
* Meet agreed project schedules.
* Upload progress and completion photos using CompanyCam.
Qualifications
* Experience completing asphalt shingle roof replacements and repairs.
* Established crew able to work independently.
* Own transportation, tools, ladders, and fall-protection equipment.
* General liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage.
* Knowledge of proper flashing, ventilation, underlayment, and shingle installation.
* Ability to diagnose leaks and complete durable repairs.
* Ability to follow OSHA requirements and company installation checklists.
* Experience with Malarkey or Owens Corning roofing systems is preferred.
Compensation and Housing
Projects are priced based on roof size, pitch, accessibility, tear-off requirements, repair scope, and complexity.
Typical monthly earnings range from approximately $15,000 to $50,000, depending on crew size, production, availability, and project volume.
Crew housing is available during active projects, subject to availability and crew size.
