For sale a 1983 S10 Sport, long bed, 2.8L V6, 4 speed transmission. This is a great first truck for a young teenager, older handyman or someone looking for a reliable and practical form of transportation. A great deal of mechanical and interior repairs and deferred maintenance has been completed during my ownership. I purchased it in 2020 and it stayed in my garage for about a year while I did the following: pulled the engine and transmission; replaced the front and rear main seals, oil pan gasket; timing chain sproket and chain; timing cover; harmonic balancer; water pump; fuel pump; exhaust manifold gaskets; EGR & PCV valves; both cylinder heads & gaskets; intake manifold gaskets; distributor cap; ignition coil & plug wires; valve cover gaskets; air cleaner & gasket; L & R motor mounts; radiator & cap; thermostat; upper & lower radiator hoses; vacuum & fuel hoses; radiator shroud; durmast clutch set; rear transmission seal; upper and lower A arms set; inner & outer tie rod kits; front & rear mono-matic dampers; sway bar & end link bushings; 4 new GTR GT Radial Touring VP plus 205/75 R14 tires, ignition lock cylinder; L & R door hinge pins; L & R door window channel guides & seals; L & R cab drip weather strips; new seat cover; used door panels and arm rests; dash pad cover; black rubber floor mat; 2 in dash speakers; turn signal switch; remanufactured carburetor; exhaust, muffler & tailpipe; exhaust cutout; alignment; windshield replacement and new windshield wipers; new rear brake shoes and drums; new front brake pads and rotors; hydraulic lifers; speedometer cable; heater core; under the bed mounted full and correct size spare tire; job tool box; ladder rack; Obrien Windsurfer, yes that's right I have three windsurfers and one needs to go with this vehicle. You cans use it as intended or and a SUP. At some point in time the original engine was replaced with an AC Delco remanufactured short block. I have no documentation on this other than the stamp on the engine block. Known flaws: it has a rear main seal oil leak; no head liner; rust as shown in the photos; the speedometer needle bounces even after a new cable was installed; cracks in the dash ( there are many); the cassette player does not work and the volume of the AM/FM radio is low on the right side (possibly an internal function of the original head unit); rear license plate bulb is burnt out and unable to change it; Involved in and accident in 1997 which appears to have involved the hood, left front fender and drivers door. That is the visible areas where there is not original body paint. Minimal damage to the front and rear bumpers; damage to the drivers side rear bed below the tail light and no AC.
The truck runs and drives great. It's been a handy vehicle for a lot of home projects over the years but it's time to go. I will be considering all reasonable offers until the post is deleted so if it's still up it's still available. Cash only, no trades or other payment options. Vehicle is available to see and drive upon scheduled appointment. Clear title in my name. Truck appears to be a Montana truck its entire life. Have original Owners Manual, Window Sticker and Service Parts Identification sticker. Originally sold on January 10, 1983 in Great Falls. Please be considerate in your dealings with the inspection and purchase of this rugged old survivor. It's a true Montana truck with a lot of character.
