Honore Daumier (1808-1879) was a French printmaker/social and political commentator who had a penchant for skewering the legal profession; presented here is Pantheon Books’ linen weave hardback portfolio containing16 of his Law and Justice Series (originally there were 24) from the forties; also included is an 8 page bilingual guide to each of the prints with pithy quotes; print dimensions are approx. 10 x 14”; excellent condition; suitable for immediate framing; NOTE: small handwritten inscription to previous owner in upper corner of portfolio
