Mid-century Sony "tokuda" table radio $330
This Sony fairly screams 1965, the year of its manufacture! The numbers tell the musical story: has three, count ‘em 3, speakers; 4 bands (3 shortwave and one AM); and 8 transistors. The Model TR-827 “Superheterodyne” (for superior sensitivity) functions on AC (extra-long power cord included and it even has the original cord keeper) or on flashlight batteries (six size “D”). Incredibly, there are inputs for a turntable and a tape recorder. Measures approximately 23.6” x 11.8” x 7.5”. Has separate bass and treble controls and a button that lights up the tuning aide and the tuning dial. NOTE: shortwave reception requires an exterior antennae. (In corner of photo that shows back of radio removed a coiled antennae is displayed.) Manufactured in Japan, I believe. Clean. Nice cosmetic condition.
