This boat trailer is a warrior, a veteran of many trips from Helena to far away fishing lakes, sometimes in part on gravel roads. It is what you’d call “well used,” but it still does the job. It originally fit a Crestliner 1750 Fish Hawk, but could be adjusted for a slightly smaller boat.

I have put a lot of money into it—new axle, new hubs and new bearings last year, for example. It has new tires (probably around a thousand miles) and a spare that has never been on the ground. The bunks need to be replaced, and I was getting ready to replace them when I decided to buy a new boat trailer instead, so the new owner will have to finish the job, which should take an hour or two, but no extra expense. The new bunks go with the trailer; they just need to be installed. All the lights work, but two have cracks.

Here’s the bottom line. If you need a trailer for long trips, this might not be a reliable option. However, if you need a workable trailer for short trips to nearby lakes and don’t mind having a trailer that's no longer new and shiny, then this is a terrific deal, only a $1,000 OBO. I know for a fact comparable new boat trailers are north of 5,000 because I just bought one.
