This is a Mark-1 Wayfarer Sailing Dingy. This class of sailboat is light enough that it will get up on a plane in the right conditions but is still stable (for a dingy). Frank Dye famously sailed a Wayfarer from England to Iceland in 1963, and from England to Norway in 1964. It is often referred to as a “cruising dingy” because it can be used for multi-day adventures. The front and rear buoyancy compartments can be used to store equipment, and the benches can be easily removed to allow sleeping on the deck. The design also includes a retractable centerboard and bronze rails that protect the hull when beaching. There is much information regarding the Wayfarer Sailboats on Wikipedia and the US Wayfarer Association.

This boat is ready to use and should be a lot of fun without any work or modification. Note that it does have a slow leak. I replaced the centerboard in 2008 with a new one that was built by Roger Redwin. Note also that the front deck needs revarnishing. Everything shown in the photos is included except for the life jackets and the motor. The mainsail, jib, spinnaker, and associated rigging are included. The photos that show the boat on the water are from 2007-2014; the other photos are from 2023.

The $1,500 sale price includes the boat, trailer, and all related equipment except life jackets and the Honda motor. A summary of this equipment includes: Trailer, Trailer Dolly, Main, Jib, Spinnaker, Spinnaker pole, Hand Pump, Danforth style Anchor, Paddle.

The Honda BF2.3D motor is in like-new condition – I bought it new and I believe I used it one time. I will sell it (with the boat) for an additional $500.
